  • Can Iaccompany my Mom to her interview

    Hi folks,

I'm looking to invite my mom over to spend some time with my kids here in the US during this summer. I have every supporting document. My mom doesn't speak English. Would it be okay for me to travel to my native country and take my mom myself for her interview at the embassy and to be an interpreter for her? Would they frown at that? I'm a naturalized US citizen. I just want everything to run smooth.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Each embassy have interpreters for local languages - you don't need to take interpreter with you.

Also, you might not be allowed to accompany her during her interview.
