Cannot get thru the DS-160 form successfully

I have been trying to get thru the DS160 form from the past 3 days but it has been an extremely frustrating experience. At one point of time the process timed-out at the last step.
I am getting "page not displayed" or application errors or session timed out messages at random stages of the application process.
Is there anyone with the same experience? What is the key to completing the application form successfully.

I thought of trying to complete the application form in the middle of night at 3:00am but now the process is timing out right at the upload previous application form screen!!

removing the extra columns in ds 160

i have visited the US once earlier , and under previous US visits , there are four cloumns avaailable for filling up. I have visited once and if i leave the remaining columns blank , amnt able to go to the next page . i tried the remove option and it didnt help either. so i filled up all the columns with the same date and duration of stay.

can someone help with this plz?

That should not really happen. You should be able to enter the data only for one visit. Make sure not to put anything at all in the other rows.

Montreal, Canada?

I have been able to completely filled out my form and saved the data onto the computer. However, I was not able to finish the form as every time I click on the button "Sign and Submit" - I was re-directed back to the Introduction page.

I visited the form again today and the option "Montreal, Canada" for submitting the form was not available. Moreover, the introduction page stated that "we believe that we have resolved the unanticipated technical issues". Thus I am now confused that whether the site is either fixed or not (since Toronto, Vancouver are the 2 options available and Montreal was not).

Is it ok if I submit my form to Toronto (although my appointment is in Montreal) and bring my data to Toronto? I live in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

I think they are still having a problem. Try again when your consulate shows up.

Montreal consulate has disappeared

I received package three in the mail on Wednesday, completed all forms by Thursday and went to log onto the online form and Montreal is not an available location. I complete the whole application (which took 3 days thanks to the fact that it doesn't work at all), and now I can't submit it because only Toronto and Vancouver are listed for Canada. I will be trying to call the consulate tomorrow even though they don't have a phone number, and don't respond to emails.


If anyone knows what to do or has any advice other than waiting for it to appear on the drop down list please let me know.

This online form program is the WORST form I have ever had to fill out.

I too had issues submitting the form but managed to submit the DS-160 form after 7 Hrs of struggle. (I could get to the confirmation page and print the form)

Just have a question here, Since the system had issues during my submission time, Would it be possible that the form that I submitted is actually not saved in US consulate database?

If you were able to print the confirmation page, you can assume that you it was saved in their database.

But do you think that the person who fixed the form made a mistake in re-adding the city where the consulate use DS-160? Because I have been doing some researches and apparently, I only found information saying that the form DS 160 is only used in Montreal and Vancouver for Canada - none about Toronto.

Would it be wise to contact the consulate directly and address this problem? As my appointment has been delayed for 3 days now (and I have to attend classes at school too, missing classes right now is too risky for me).

I'm facing the same problem. I've retried a dozen times using IE8 and Google Chrome. Everytime I hit on the "Sign and Submit" button, I get redirected to the first page - the one with the "Start Application" button.

So close.... please help

Montreal not in the list

hey guys,

I am having the same problem. ie. not finding montreal in the list, except my appointment is TOMORROW. i emailed the embassy here in montreal and here's what they replied, i thought you'd be interested to know :

Dear Sir,



We are aware of the technical problem regarding completion of the DS-160 form. Our technical team in Washington is working on resolving the problem. If have been unable to complete the application form, please continue to try until such time as you are able to. If you are still unsuccessful, please come to your visa interview any way and we will re-schedule your appointment. If you are able to complete the form but unable to select Montreal, please select Vancouver and we will transfer your case to Montreal the day of your interview

no confirmation page

im on the verge of loosing it...ive tried at least a dozen of times but when i sign and submit, it gets redirected to the instructions page all over again....any body has a suggestion..would be really thankful...
