Sponsoring parents - Mother's name different on passport

Hi,
I would like to sponsor my parents for visitor/tourist visa, but my mother's first name is different on my passport (and birth certificate) than on her passport - she is also knows with that first name but its not documented well.

Will it be ok if i just get an affidavit saying both names belong to the same person ?

Or should i not mention my mother's relationship at all in the application - it will be just sponsoring somebody else ?

Thanks! - In my case this is not related to the marriage. But its been a custom to call by two different name. One is doumented but unfortunately the other one is not. There is no way i can prove other than an Affidavit.

So will just the Affidavit is fine ? or do you recommend not mentioning the relationship at all ?

You modify the affidavit accordingly to whatever your situation is.
