  • Need help with DS-160 !!

While filling DS-160... for the question " Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the point of entry? Explain:", I answered ... "]I WAS REFUSED A B-2 VISITORS VISA ON 11 FEB 2010 (REF. XX) FROM THE US EMBASSY AT LONDON UNDER SECTION 214(B) AND WAS ASKED TO APPLY FROM MY HOME COUNTRY. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT DAY I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESENT MY CASE PROPERLY."

    1. Shud I rather say " I was refused the visa on so and so date from so n so place as I could not demonstrate sufficient ties to the UK (like the VO said) and was asked to apply from my home country" and strike out the last line? Will I have to fill up a new form for this ?

2, Its been over 2 weeks since I have been looking for appointments at the New Delhi VFS but no luck I am really sad n worried .. please suggest something?

    1. You will have to report the truth while filling new DS-160 form.
    2. Keep trying.

I am not hiding any fact
i did clearly state that I have been refused under 214(b) and was asked to apply from India.. All i need to know is that is it necessary or better that I reword my answer to say that "I have been refused under 214(b) as I couldn demonstrate sufficient ties to the UK and was asked to apply from home?" because I will have to fill in a new form

        Simply mention the following:

        Date of Application: _ /_ / 20__
Place of Application: London, United Kingdom
Reason for Rejection: 214 (B). Was advised to reapply from home country.

No more information required. 214 (B) automatically implies that you could not prove your ties to UK. So you don't need to mention that again.
