Is Sponsor Documents Attestation Required ?

Do the sponsor's documents like passport copy, salalry slip, tax retrun statement etc need to be attested or just a copy is good enough ?

If attestation is required , can it be a notary or has it to be done by Indian consulate in US ?

The I-34 form , does that need to be notarized ?
The sample letter to consulate I downloaded says "Notarized Affidavit of Support, form I- 34"
