  • Parents name different on their passport

    Hello All,
    I am sponsoring my parents to visit US on B2 (visitor visa), I have the name challenge on my father passport.
    my father has a different name on his passport compared to what I have in my passport
    and surname has one letter different

    any anyone please guide? or direct me to any reference link?

    while searching similar post: I found this suggest. is this recommended? because I don't want to go into passport change of name hassle

    It should not be a big problem. You can make one and the same person affidavit.

      My suggestion would be to get the passport corrected, if possible. it will be helpful in long term.

      If not, then put both the names in DS160 & collect proofs to prove that both are same person - like photo IDs for same person with different names, etc.

      At last the Oath letter as suggested by you - in my experience, given such self-signed letter doesn't have much value for VOs.

        Did one and the Same person affidavit worked for you? if yes, was it notarized or self-attested affidavit? if not, is there any solution to this problem?
