Urgent help-Last name incorrect one letter

Urgent help-I have taken appointments for my parents. We found that there is one letter different in last name for my father and mother passports. Does it help, if we take notary? Can some one give any suggestions?

Two options:
1. Tell the consular officer at the time of interview about this.
2. Cancel appointment, submit corrected DS-160 and take new appointment.

One letter in last name is different for father and mother in passports itself.DS160 has been filled as per the passport for both father and Mother. DS160 is correct as per passports.

My father last name in passport is KORESAPATI
MY MOTHER LAST NAME IN PASSPORT IS KORISAPATI

That's no problem as long as their names of each person is consistent in each person's documents.
