state of residence

while booking an appointment, "state of residence" seems to be a mandatory field with only 2 options: India/bhutan or US.

my sister is planning to applying for a visa in delhi. She is currently a student in uk and will be applying when she goes home during her vacation next month. as she has been living in uk for more than 6 months, technically she should not be selecting either of the options as her residence is UK.

does this mean she is not eligible to apply for a visa from delhi? or should she just select india as her residence?

any advise will be much appreciated!

another question. we have filled her indian address as her home & mailing address in DS160, although she is living in student accommodation in UK. the reason is that her student accommodation in UK is only temporary and she will be returning back to india in 6 months anyways.

will this be ok for visa purposes? she will indeed show the interviewing officer a letter from UK university stating her course commitments etc, I just dont want her visa to be denied only for the reason that she has stated her indian rather than UK address on the form.

what are your views?

Just the way you are explaining here, you ask her to explain that to the consulate officer regarding what is going on.
