Couple of questions on tourist visa

Hey all,

1. I am planning to get a visitor visa done for my dad. However, he is not sure of coming to the US immediately after he gets his visa. Is there any time limit on this, as in, if he gets his visa tomorrow, can he travel any time this year or even next year?

2. I also heard that for some countries we may need to show a copy of a return tickets to the consulate to obtain a tourist visa. Is this required for the US as well?

Can anybody please clarify the couple of concerns.

1. He can travel at any time within the validity period of his visa stamp.

2. as for me ,they asked me when i got to the U.S port of enty.They will ask for how long u gonna stay and asked to see my ticket.

Regarding the tickets, I never got one and they never asked for one. You don't need to get them. You can just say, I will get my tickets as soon as my visa is issued. Be confident and true...thats all they want. good luck!
