What are my chances to get a visa?

Hi I am from Australia. I got permanent residency in April 2019
I have studied and worked in Australia for 5 years. Currently I am unemployed but I will start my MBA degree in 16 September 2019
My parents in Vietnam will be coming with me to the US and they will be sponsoring my trip
I want to visit the US in December. Should I wait until I start my degree to apply for a visa or can I apply now?
Should I say the trip was sponsored by my parents or myself? Which is better?

Your parents can certainly sponsor your visit, but it is better if you sponsor it yourself.
