Bank Balance to show financial support

Hi,

My parents, sister and her 2 daughters are planning to go together to Chennai US consulate to get their visitor visas. I will be sending the sponsor documents from my side. What would be a good (safe-enough) bank balance to show as they are goin in a group of 5. I read that there is no a hard and fast rule for this but I just want to make sure I at least have the minimum amount that is safe. My father will also have financial support information from his side with him.

There is no such official limit for bank balance.

There is thumb rule to have 5000 $ per applicant.

Father/Mother=Father's sponcership document
sister+2 kids = 15000 $ urdocuments
