Last name misprint in passport

Hi ImmiHelp Team & Admin,

My parent surname is "Mac***" & My surname is "An***"(my surname was changed by birth). In my passport my parent surname is also printed as "An***". I am planning to call my parent to US. What is the procedure to change there surname in my passport? What document i will need from India?

thanks for the quick response. The Affidavit mentioned in the website is all for name change. Do we have to use the same affidavit format for misprint also?

I have submitted all docs to Indian Embassy & also my interview is scheduled on 9th Apr 2010. Do I need to attend the interview? I submitted online form and all supporting documents through mail.
