Hello Folks,
I need your suggestions on this situation. My moth had a green card but she has stayed outside of the US for more than 3 years and so the status of the green card is null and void now. She stayed in the United States for more than 5 years but did not apply for US passport due to the language barrier. My younger brother's wife is pregnant in the United States and my mother wants to go to the United States to take care of her. Its a cultural thing in our society that mature and experienced women should be with the women giving birth so that she can take care of her in the last days of her pregnancy. The reason why she stayed out of the United States was beyond her control. Now that we are short of time, we are thinking of applying B2 Visa for her. Ideally, she should apply for SB1 Visa but that needs more time that we don't have.
Please advise, can she get the B2 visa now and can she apply for SB1 visa once she is back from united states after 3 months or so.
Any suggestions or advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.
