Hi Friends,
My husband has gone to US on J1 Visa. I am working with a software company in India. I am applying for J2 Visa as my company is not ready to sponsor Visa for me. My interview is scheduled in a months time. I want to ask following:
1) I am aware that I am not allowed to work from home from USA for my current organization without first acquiring valid US work permit. I can apply to this only after I reach USA and it will take around 3 to 4 months to get. So I am contemplating to resign from my organization. As getting US Visa is a tricky business, I plan not to resign until I have the Visa. But if I am currently employed and appearing for Visa interview will it be negative for me as it will appear as if I am planning to work from home from USA? Can my chances of getting Visa reduce due to not resigning before appearing for Visa interview?
2) Considering that I have 8 years of work experience in IT industry and my husband is on full scholarship and I don't have to fund his studies with my money how much chances I have of acquiring the work permit?
Please help me if you have any experience of a similar situation.
Thanks
