Most common duration for i-94 stamp

If you or a loved one came to US in 2018 or 2019 on B1/ B2 visa, can you please share what was the duration of i-94 given?

Was it somewhat random or did they take into consideration your plans?

I have travelled in the past two years and even though at the POE we were specifically asked how long we were going to stay and we replied much shorter durations on both occasions, the I94 was issued for six months both times. For your information, we left as per our scheduled departure.

Now-a-days everyone is issued I94 for 6 months, but they keep record of what you asked. If you staying longer then what you asked, you may be questioned in subsequent visits.
