  • Dad Retired and No Pension, Has Libyan Visa

    Hi,

I am currently on a L1 visa and my husband is also on L1 Visa.
I have been in US for 3 months now and I am sponsoring my parents.

My brother is just traveling to US on H1 visa.
My father is retired, no pension, but is working in a company like a consultant (no employment letter), and has IT returns.

My mother is a school teacher and can get a no-objection letter.

    Question:-

    1) Do I show my dad as working or retired?
    2) Is it ok to say my dad is a consultant and working at the age of 63 years (when most people retire)??? He can get a service letter from his company. Most importantly he has a LIBYA visa (travelled to Libya for 1 year). I heard US does not like Libyan visa guys? Is it True???
    3) Is it a problem that my brother is not sponsoring and it is me (daughter).
    4) Will they be considered immigrants as both of us (brother and me,) are in US.

    Please help.
    A.

    2. It is ok to work at any age. Get that letter.
It is tough to tell regarding the Libya visa.
    3. No.
    4. Everyone applying for tourist visa is considered immigrant, unless the applicant proves otherwise. Read http://www.immihelp.com/visitor-visa/
