  • Using B1/B2 obtained (for business) last year for tourism this year

Hi, I was issued a B1/B2 visa last year for attending a business meeting in the USA. However, the meeting got cancelled and that led to the cancellation of my trip. Can I use the same visa to visit my brother who lives in the US and visit some places for 3 weeks? If yes, what documents should I produce at the port of entry? I am an Indian national living in Ireland now on student (graduate) visa and that's from where my round trip ticket would be.

    Thank you!

Theoretically, yes you can. But since your visa was issued for the business meeting purpose & you did not used it at that time, it "might" be treated as you misrepresented facts.

Its not a big issue, but be ready to produce proof of cancellation of that meeting at POE & couple more questions. Keep papers handy for your interview at POE (not in checked bags).
