VISA for Parents - Help

Hi,

I have applied for visitors VISA for my parents and their interview is on 30th April.

My father retired as Account's Officer from M.S.E.B (State Electricity Board) in 2007. Instead of sitting at home he decided to work for his friend's firm in the same field (electricity generation) at a low salary, 14k per month. Just as a pass time for him.

In the DS-160 I mentioned this as his current job as I didn’t want to hide anything and thinking this will be good to show ties in India. There was no space for old employment history on DS160 so I could not mention his old job.

Now I am worried that will this be a problem under "low income cause"? Will this be a problem though I am sponsering him?

If yes can I still go ahead and modify his DS160 showing only retired?

It is better to have low income than no income. What you have done is correct. If he is working, he is not retired.

There is a place to put the employment history in last 5 years in DS-160 form. https://www.immihelp.com/us-visa-ds-...g-information/

Admin - When I was filling form for my father, it did not give option for me to enter previous employment details. After present employment it was taking me to Security. Past employment option was disabled. I have taken a screenshot of this for my record.

Will it be a problem? I wanted to show his previous employment but because of this problem I couldnt do it.

Did anybody experienced this while filing for their parents? The online DS160 did not allow to put his past employment. Finally I took a screen shot and I am asking my father to take it with him for interview to show officer that he was working before but he could not fill it in DS160.
