  • Very distraught - needs urgent help with B2 visa

I posted here a few days back about my visa case.. I had my B2 visa interview at Delhi on 8th apr and was told by VO that i got the visa.. But next day I got a mail asking for more docs which I sent immediately. I got an autoreply saying it may take 4-6 weeks for further processing .. Now my problem is that I need to fly back to UK by 26th Apr to write my final exam in London on 29th (was home for a holiday of 1 month) and my passport is still with the embassy

Please suggest urgently what should I do ? I mailed them as well but no one replied! :'(

I really cannot understand what the emergency was that you had to apply for a visitors visa at this time. Your priority ought to have been your exams rather than a US visitors visa for a pleasure trip.

Every visa applicant must be prepared for such processing delays especially when her/his case is slightly complicated and there has been a previous rejection.

It is impossible and absurd to ask the consulate to hurry up with your application since yours is only one of hundreds of cases that they see EACH day.

If they answered all the emails/queries they received personally then that is all that they would be doing. So generally
you will not be able to get anything but a generic reply from them.

So at this point you can keep your fingers crossed and hope that you get back your visa before it's time to leave.

Otherwise you may have to try to visit the consulate a week or so before your travel date and try to contact someone there in person.
