my brother got the visitor visa last year in july but he didn't came to US last year though he came this year his visa is expiring on july 16 2010 ..but when he cleared the immigration in US they put a stamp of october 8 2010 on custom clearing form bottom part kept the upper part and attached the bottom part to the passport so does that mean that they extended his visa or he has to go back before july 16 ..plz help..thanx in advance.

Visa duration and authorized stay duration (as specified in I-94) form are two different things.
He can stay till Oct 8 2010.
