Sponsoring B2 for wife's aunt

Both my wife and I work in US on Green Card. However, my wife's salary is low as she has less work experience.
My wife's aunt (mother's sister) would like to visit us on B2 visa.
In this scenario, which of the options would be safer w.r.t. sponsorship for the visitor visa?
1. My wife sponsoring her aunt (closer relationship, but low salary. However, my wife has joint accounts with me)
2. Me sponsoring my wife's aunt (those relationship is not as close as option 1, but I've higher wages and assets in US)

Appreciate if anyone can share your experience or thoughts on similar situations you might have faced.

Best would be to have your wife's aunt self sponsor her visit. If not, then anyone (irrespective of any relation) can sponsor.
