Appointment time

Hi,
My mother is appearing for her visitor's visa in Chennai on Dec.28th. Her appointment time is 9:30-9:45 am. Does she have to be at the embassy very early, say by 6 am? Will there be a long line or can she show the person at the gate her appointment letter and get in without waiting?
