Visit to USA from canada for 1 week ( passport expiring soon)

Hi

Query about visiting to USA from canada.
My mom have visitor B2 visa till 2022 but her indian passport expiring on this Jan 2020. Right now she is in canada and she wants to visit to USA for 1 week. so query is

1) do she have any problem during port of entry ( Detroit - USA canada border ) becoz of her passport expiring withing 2 months ( still valid Visa -till 2022)

2) do Officer can rejects to her port of entry while entering to USA ? ( she wants to stay for 1 week .)

Yes, its a basic requirement to have 6 months validity in your passport, when you try to enter USA.

Certainly they can deny entry or deport.
