  • Entry Refused

    Hi,

I was travelling for work in the USA every week in the past 2 months. The travel was from Monday - Friday and I would spend the weekend in Canada.
I was doing consulting for my company (from Canada) and therefore I needed to travel that much. At the immigration, I told the officer, that I am here for consulting and helping the customer to understand our software. I showed some supporting docs, like PO, a letter from my company etc..

He was not convinced and rejected my entry. He did not give me any documents or such.
My question is, do I need to be worried to enter as a legit tourist now? Say, I am travelling with Family to see NY, could they reject my entry again?

Do I need to clear anything with immigration before I can re-enter again as a tourist now?

    Thanks,

You must have been given some notice or verbally told what happened. Were you allowed to "withdraw" your application to enter? or were you found inadmissible? any forms like I-275? It all depends on why and on what grounds you're refused. My gut feeling is that you unknowingly "withdrew" your application to enter and this is okay because it won't harm your future chances of visas or entry. However, if you were found inadmissible for some reason, it may be trouble. So, it's important for you to figure out on what grounds you weren't allowed entry.
    --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
