While applying for my visa in Mumbai, I had no specific travel plans and at the time I had intended to stay only for 21 days, which I mentioned in my application form. I had not asked my office for leave yet so I wasn't sure what I was going to get anyway.
Once I got my visa, I thought I could stay for more time since I there is a 6-month limit and I really wanted to visit a lot of family and close friends and I didn't think 21 days would be enough. My office has also agreed to let me go for that long and my uncle, a US citizen, has agreed to sponsor my trip.
I now am going from July 10-December 3, for which I have a return ticket. I am worried about what to tell the Port of Entry officer now in case he asks why I have changed my intended duration of stay. Any suggestions on how I can explain myself if I am asked?
I know my story sounds pretty dumb but it's true! I'm actually desperate in need from a long break from work. I have been to the US twice before and I have always left when I was supposed to. I'm still nervous though because I don't want to be doubted!
