Advice on applying for visitor US VISA for family

Hi,

I would like to apply for Vistor VISA for USA for my family (Mom, Dad and Brother). My brother had applied for visitor visa last year and it was rejected. I am thinking of applying for visitor visa for my family together. How do I go about this scenario and make sure all my family members get visitor visa. Would the chances of getting visitor visa for the family be less because my brother's visa was rejected last year. Any advice on this is appreciated.

Quite possible VO will approve visa for your parents & reject again for your brother.

Try to identify what was the reason for your brother's earlier visa application - if there is no change in situation, then re-applying won't help either.

Libra_14 - Thanks for the response. His visa was rejected because he said it is self sponsored and mentioned that I work there. So I am guessing the VO thought he does not have ties back to motherland.

How to make strong case for the next time? Any suggestions?

Self sponsor or parent sponsoring is always better, so I don't think that is the issue.

"mentioned that I work there" - do you mean he said that he will work in USA, during his visit ? If so, then don't waste money re-applying now, wait for some more time.

Whether you apply together or separately with the family, each person's situation is reviewed separately. So, it's okay to apply together to save time, but you may see the same results. Parents usually don't have much of a problem as long as they can prove ties to your country. However, if you've got a brother who cannot dispel the 214b no ties, then it's a repeat of the older denial.
