Visa Sub category for Parents visa clarification

Hi Team,

I am applying visitor visa for my parents for their short term visit to USA , I have selected 'Business & Tourism (Temporary Visitor) (B1/B2)' as a visa sub category , however my colleagues are saying I need to mention 'Tourism/Medical Treatment (B2)' , can someone please help me on this?. I have booked visa appointment with 'Business & Tourism (Temporary Visitor) (B1/B2)' as a sub category and didn't submit DS 160 form yet.

Is it ok to go ahead with 'Business & Tourism (Temporary Visitor) (B1/B2)' as a sub category or should I cancel my appointment and fill new DS 160's and book new appointment for my parents with visa sub category as 'Tourism/Medical Treatment (B2)' ? also Is there any way that we can work with back-end team to get visa sub category updated as only 'Tourism/Medical Treatment (B2)'?

Good that you did not submit DS160, appointment is fine.

Your parents are coming for tourism only? I guess "Yes".

or Are they planning to involve in any business activities? I guess "No".

Just update your DS160 to only "B2" & submit it. Rest all things are fine - not a big difference.
