I am staying in India and want to sponsor visitor Visa for my parents for a a trip to US. Is it possible? If yes, what all documents are needed on my behalf. Can I show my financial stability for sponsoring this visa?

You can't sponsor a visa. What you mean is, you want to fund their trip. Yes, you can do that. They will have to present evidence at the interview that they have the funds to travel which means they must carry proof that you have those funds and you are willing to support them.
