  • Urgent help: weird visa situation

    Hi all !

The VO at New Delhi told me during the consulate that my visa is approved and i will get the passport in 5 days.. but next day i get a mail from the NIV unit at the embassy saying i need to submit additional documents.. I submitted and was told it might take 4-6 weeks for further processing.. Meanwhile , i had to attend exams in UK so I got my passport back from the embassy while my case was still being processed..

Now I got a mail from the US embassy saying "In order to process your application please submit your passport via VFS Courier Services. Please note that you should not send it by post or other courier services."

    1. Does it mean I have got the visa? or can they even put a 'refused' stamp ??

    2. What is the appropriate way to send my passport for stamping? It will be very difficult for me to goto India once again as I have just returned. I read in the passport as well as in this forum that sending it via a courier across boarder is illegal .. so Can I send it via the US embassy in London or through a relative with an authorization letter?

    3. If an authorization letter can be used, what all should it include?

    Thanks!
