  • Documents for Aunt Visitor Visa

    Hello,

I need some information for my situation. I am planning to sponsor my aunt's visitor's visa. I have some questions.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUESTION 1) For Proving relation with Aunt:

    1) My grandmother(mother's mother) who is not alive had 4 daughters
    a) Aunt 1(not alive)
    b) Aunt 2
    c) Aunt 3(who I plan to sponsor)
    d) my mother

Since birth certificates didnt exist during that times, I plan to do the following

    a) My grandmother's death certificate shows the names of the 4 daughters. Using this document as base, I plan to get an affidavit from Aunt 2(since she is the oldest alive) to say she has witnessed the birth of her other 2 sisters and specifying DOB, name etc.

    b) My aunt3 who I will be sponsoring can show her passport copy, School TC etc. She can also get non-availability certificate if needed.

    c) My mom can show her passport copy showing her dob.[is this required?]

Is this sufficient? I have had colelagues show similar affidavits/passport/tc copies and have had their aunts get the visa... ANy suggestions if I have to get any other documents?
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUESTION 2) For proving ties with India:

My Aunt 3 who I plan to sponsor is actually single/widowed but she has an unmarried daughter who lives with her and works in a Multinational company back in India. So that should be a very good reason to prove she plan to go back after 6 months. Should this be proven? or do we add this information in her covering letter? her pension books/and some other documents mentions her name as daughter?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------
QUESTION 3) If I want her to be here on December 15, 2010. WHen should she be appearing for her visa, given all the delays expected in consulates these days? She would be appearing in Chennai Consulate?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for answering all 3 questions.

    1. It is difficult to say. It is really up to the consulate to decide whether it is enough or not.
    2. She could carry maximum documents, any document that you think would help her should be carried.
    3. May be in Aug-Sep or later.
