B2 Visa Interview Tips

Dear all,

I'd be appearing for the appointment later this week and I'm planning to visit in March. Could you please help with some interview tips and potential roadblocks for my Visa. Here are my case facts below:

Indian Citizen, 29 years old, Unmarried, Salary of ~US$25,000 at a MNC bank based in the US
No travel history, No relatives in the US. Contact person is a friend with whom I'm gonna stay who currently works in a tech company in the US.

You need to prove strong ties to your home country.

Married with kids, good salary, property in home country would help.

For the question of where am I going to stay in US , i am putting my cousin's address as I plan to visit him in Texas. But after I get the visa , if I visit New York first for tourism(since its nearer to Toronto ) , will that be any issue while entering US?
