electronic Supporting documents

We are applying for B1/b2 renewal for my MIL. Can I send signed supporting document by e-mail and my relatives can print it over there and take it to consulate? or it does have to be original documents? meaning I will need to send it by snail mail.

Take a high resolution scanned copy & ask them to print it in color using color-laser printer.
