  • Clarification regarding certain documents for Parents B2 visa

    Hi,

I am applying for B2 visitor visa for my parents to be able to visit me in the US
I am on Green card in the US and have my own company and am employee of my own company. Appreciate if you could kindly provide clarifications regarding the following document requirements queries regd. their visitor/tourist visa application. Sorry about the large number of queries below, but I believe most of these are pretty straight forward queriesI have.

    (1) One one websites (https://*********.com/process-and-do...ple-documents/) says documents needed to send to parents are copies of my W2 Forms for all the years, last three pay stubs or salary statements, Last three bank statements, Copy of my passport, I-94. Based on this I have following 3 questions:
    (2) Last 3 paystubs and 3 bank statements are fine. But do I really need to send W2 forms for the the last 22 years I have been in the US ?
    (3) Based on (1) above do I have to send passport copy of all the pages of my passport or only the first 2 and last 2 pages.
    (4) Based on (1) above do I need to send an I-94 card copy since I am a Green Card holder in US ?
    (5) Affidavit of Support I-134 Form . Do I really need to fill this or is it optional . My parents have their own house in India . Do I still need to provide this document . Will not providing this reduce chances of them getting the Visa ?
    (6) My bank statements are usually 1 month behind. So if my parent's visa interview is going to be in March 2020, then by that time I would have only Feb 2020 statements latest. So if I send Feb, Jan and Dec 2019 statements is that good enough or does the Consulate expect my March 2020 statements also for a Mar interview ?
    (7) My Bank verification letter could be dated at most how many days prior to the date of the interview ? Should it be something like not more than 1 week older than the interview date ?
    (8) Does the consulate officer need to see my original bank statements, my original pay stubs, my original business / Scorp registration certificate or do I just need to send photo-copies of these 3 documents to my parents so that they can present these photo copies during the visa interview ?
    (9) From my parents side, do they need to take just their latest passports with them or do they need to take all their previous passports as well ?
    (10) From my parents side do they need to take any specific number of their bank statements like the last 3 months many more past months of their bank statements ?
    (11) If my parents are retired is there any additional docs they have to take like Pension documents or something else ?
    (12) Do my retired parents need to take their own Tax returns and if so is it the latest or from last several years ?
    (13) If my parents own a house they are living in currently in India, do they have to take any documents related to that house they own ?
    (14) Are there any other docs my parents have to take from their end other than the above docs and other than the docs I send to verify my financial stability and status in US ?

Really appreciate your clarification in this regard.
    thanks in advance .

    Hi,
    Please see my response below
    1. As per my knowledge, you dont require all W2 forms. Just recent most would be suffice.
    2. No. Just provide recent most 2 to 3 years of W2 and recent most 3 months paystubs along with tax returns.
    3. Passport Biographic page is sufficient along with visa pages.
    4. I-94 soft copy is fine, if you have any.
    5. Since this is B visa, I don't think, you will need financial related affidavit documents.
    6. Whatever you have which is most recent that you can provide.
    7. You can consider recent one which is less than one month.
    8. Unless specifically required by consulate/ embassy, you will need to provide only photo copies of all the documents.
    9. If they have any visas stamped in the previous passports then they will need to carry previous passports too. Otherwise, recent most one is fine.
    10. Usually we suggest people to carry last 6 months bank statements.
    11. Not required.. If they provide bank statements would be cover even rest of the things.
    12. Of course Yes. Tax returns would be really helpful when they go for stamping. Recent 2 years would be suffice.
    13. If they have property owned they can carry property documents too.
    14. One thing I can suggest is, birth certificate of yours and relationship documents of you and your parents and Invitation letter. along with this, whatever you have mentioned is more and more sufficient.
Note: For B visas, documents are purely secondary. It is based on Interaction with Officer. Some of them are sharing there Experience stating, Officer not even asked single documents. So, documents are only for safer side. if they ask, you can provide it. Otherwise, Applicant needs to demonstrate everything through conversations.
    Thanks

your documents, situation, is NOT going to be assessed...and there is NO piece of paper one can bring to a B2 interview and have it change a weak case to a strong one.
