  • Applying for us tourist visa

    Hi,

I am from india and want to apply for US tourist visa. Planning to visit my brother in law with my husband in May.
following is my important information :

    1. my husband already possess a tourist visa since 2005. he has visited the US many times and also studied there for two years.
    2. my husband now has a PR for Canada and he is working in Toronto. i have submitted my spousal sponsorship application for canada last week so have no intentions for staying in the US.
Also I need to be in india for my application process so will be visiting US for a short while.
    3. i am currently working as an architect in a firm since last 6 years
    4. my husband would be sponsoring our trip.
    5. i got my Canada tourist visa rejected in January so i am worried for this visa as well.

request if you can suggest , if I should apply with these circumstances or i should add more information for my application. And what are the chances for me to get this visa.

    Regards

I see 2 issues with whatever you mentioned:
    1. For USA tourist visa, you need to prove strong ties to home country, by applying for Canada PR you are showing intention to leave your country - which is not good for USA tourist visa.
    2. Merely having an pending application doesn't prove that you'll leave USA.
I would suggest to wait for your Canada PR, move to Canada & then apply for your USA tourist visa.

hi, thank you for your reply. actually my In-laws would also be traveling with us for these holidays and they too have a valid US visa.
I recently got married and my husband stays and works in Canada. My inlaws stay in eastern Europe. My own parents stay in India.

are these not good enough to show home ties? and will it be okay if I don't disclose my PR application to the visa officer during interview?

      regards

You can give it a try, married but husband not living in India shows you do not have ties to India.

Telling lie or hiding the truth will be a mistake for your future visas as well, if you get caught.
