Parents travelling with kid

My in-laws will be visiting US next month for the first time with my son. My son is 2.5yrs old, he was in US for 4 months earlier and has been in India since Feb'10.

Will this be a problem at the port of entry? Are there any documents useful to support that we will be taking care of kid ourselves (and not parents)?
