Applying for visitor visa while immigration papers filled

Hi all,

My parents have immigration papers filled by my aunt in (2007). It may take another 10+ yrs before their turn comes.They will like to apply for tourist visa this yeard. I am on H1-B and will be sponsoring their trip.

I have heard that normally you don't get tourist visa if your immigration papers are filled..is that ture? if so, will canceling the immigration filling and then applying for the Tourists visa help?

Any advice appriciated.Thanks in advance

1. That is true.
2. That may not help because they already disclosed their intent to immigrant in past.
