Bank Account Numbers and SSN Numbers

I would like to know if I may " white out" my bank account number on my bank
statements as well as my social security number on my tax returns, when supplying the needed information for a tourist visa.

Why would you like to do that?

You are going to give those papers only to the person whom you are sponsoring and to one else. Right?
