  • Entry to US from UK on B2 Visa

Hi - my mother in law (Indian citizen) has an existing B2 Visa for travel to the US but she has been in the UK for the past few months. Her daughter has a baby in the US and needs help with the child - she would like to visit her but as far as we understand this is not currently possible because of the travel ban from the UK.

There are plenty of flights from the UK to the US - are they really just for US citizens or could my mother in law qualify given the family angle? Her daughter is a permanent citizen married to a US citizen.

I’ve also noticed that BA and Virgin don’t actually mention any travel restrictions on their website when booking a ticket.

    Thanks for any advice.

    The exceptions are:
    • US citizens and permanent residents
    • Spouses of citizens or permanent residents
    • Parents of unmarried under-21 citizens or permanent residents
    • Siblings of citizens or permanent residents (both the person and the sibling must be unmarried and under 21)
    • Unmarried under-21 children of permanent residents
    • Crew members
    • Diplomats
I don't think your mother qualifies for any of these and so she cannot travel to the US without first going to a non-banned country for 14 days.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thanks for the detailed list newacct. I'm also searching the internet for the same purpose. Thanks again.
