need advice on funds required for B2 visa to visit US for a month

I am Indian Citizen and currently studying Masters from UK on student tier 4 visa. I need to go US for a month on visitors visa to visit my friend who is studying in US on student visa.I need to knw that how much funds(in pounds) should i show in my account to get B2 visa for a month and how old the fund should be.

Also Plz let me knw if my friend can sponsor me who is also on student visa in US.And how much fund he will have to show to sponsor me.

i have deposited 1000 pounds in my account a week back...is ut sufficient to apply for the visa????

Just depositing money a week before interview in the bank account will not help. You really need to have money consistently.
