  • Mistake in DS-160 observed after submitting it

    Hello,

My parents visa is on Tue, 22nd June 2010 and there is a small concern todayregarding the DS-160 I have filled for my mother.
In the form, there is a section where I had to enter my father's birth date (as in spouse's birthdate).
While reviewing things again yesterday we observed that I entered the date incorrectly. I entered it as my mother's day of birth and month along with my father's year.

How should we handle this mistake. I think it is too late to even think of correcting it, so it needs to be handled in the interview for sure. The question is how??

Do we tell the VO upfront during the interview or should we stay quiet and when asked, we accept it, by saying yes when we reviewed the forms we observed that this error had occurred or simply say we are not aware of this issue and just be normal, allow things to go as they are.

Also, I am really not sure how big this mistake is.

Can you please help me with your expertise here.

    Many Thanks!!!!

You can fill DS-160 any number of times.
While booking the appointment , use the bar code of that form whichever you think is correct.

The thing is visa interview date has been scheduled with that bar code number already. What should we do about it..

If possible, you can cancel and rebook.
Else, you can explain that to visa officer at the time of interview.

Because it's just a typo, there should be no issues.

Thanks so very much.. I hope that even consulate thinks its a typo and not an incorrect piece of information we are trying to give...so it is better we inform them beforehand rather than they telling us..
Here is what I think I should do....Re-fill the application and submit it again and give them the new bar code number during the interview. Does that sound correct way to approach this problem.
