i have been looking for visa appointment dates for my in-laws at new delhi consulate since 15 june. It has not shown a single available slot since 15th June. when do they usually open the dates and how far ahead?are all dates for july already taken?someone pls help

I took my mom's visa appointment date today(30 June 2010) at Delhi Consulate on 22nd july. I was 8pm(PST) (8.30am in India) when i took it. Only 22-23rd July were open. Dates showed up for 7-8 mins.only..After downloading Mom's appointment letter I checked for the dates again & they were gone..I went through so many forums to get the tips for tracking visa dates..What I collect from all is (most probably) try looking for dates at the end & middle of any month to get dates for following month. Another thing definitely try between 6.30am-9.30am (IST) & 3.30pm-7pm(IST) on Thur,fri & following Mon. after every 10 or 15 mins if possible ( remember we have to increase our probability to catch visa dates) Its bloody luck based thing which I know everyone is not so gud at that..
I was checking for dates from last 25 days & spent many sleepless nights just for getting visa interview date..It seems these days getting visa dates is just similar of getting jobs in recession pd.
Anyways good luck for all those who are trying...this is what we all need most at this point of time. If you have any query just ask..We are here to help out each other. Thanks !!

thanks a lot for the info. actually i had e-mailed both vfs and new delhi consulate and they did not provide any info. both of them replied that the other agency is responsible for releasing visa dates (which was not surprising at all). i will keep trying at those times and hope i get something in july. thanks again and good luck for ur mom's visa.

B1/B2 Dates open at Kolkata consulate 27,29,30 July

Thanks I have my fingers crossed for her visa interview..Lets c wat happens..Btw the dates r open fr Kolkata embassy on 27,29,30 July. If u r in hurry u can always fill ur DS-160 form again & take Kolkata embassy as ur interview option.
Well U r right i have also emailed 'em about dates. if they r really showing any dates at anytym of month..but every tym they did copy paste those red lines which comes on their website after an unsuccessful try for dates..anyways do tell me if u got any?? I think this is the problem with Delhi consulate coz i could see dates in Kolkata & Chennai almost every time i tried in curiosity..Gud luck !!

wary of changing consulate

thanks for the suggestion but i am wary of changing the consulate to anywhere except delhi. main reason is that they scrutinize u more if u attend interview at any other consulate than the one you should be. if anyone does make this consulate shift, do let us know your experience. thanks again.

No its not like, they will scrutinize u more coz u r changing ur consulate option..U can always tell VO u dint find dates at urs place after luking for a month or so, so u decided to go with different..BTW at any consulate they will look for background chk if they have any doubts about applicant. They put emphasis on choosing ur zone's consulate coz they r more familiar with local terms (even Visa Officer) & can provide u translators if needed & u dint book in advance & moreover to avoid crowd at one consulate..I have seen many who has changed their Consulate offices & got their visas & last yr in dec. Hyderabad consulate was upgrading ppl to Chennai coz they were overbooked..So, u can go ahead with other zone's consulate..But if my answer doesn't satisfy you than best way is to call VFS office & make sure.. thanks, i would still like to wait because my in-laws stay in rajasthan. it would be easier for them to travel to delhi and stay since my parents are over there. going to any other consulate would be stressful for them. also, we are not in a tearing hurry. I had a question for you-are dates opened on weekends or only on weekdays?i did not see any available this weekend. i ws not sure if i should keep looking on weekends or i am wasting my time.thanks.
