Does parent's require their marriage certificate to apply for US visitor visa?

Hello ,
My parents are going to apply for U.S. visitor visa soon , they donot have marriage certificate . Is it mandatory for my parents to have their marriage certificate with them for Visa Process ? I am asking because my mother's other original documents are usually in her maiden name.

Also, can they carry affidavit for marriage instead of an official marriage certificate ?

It is not required.

Even if your parents were to have the marriage certificate, your mother's name would obviously be her maiden name, the name before marriage.
