No reply in regards to my expedited visa process request

My son is hospitalized in the US and will go into neurosurgery. He has no family to be there for him, I have applied for a visa and from there applied for an expedited process for the visa, which said that I will receive a response in 2 business days, but that was a week ago and I am yet to receive an approval or denial. The consular website does specify that you will be notified through email whether or not your request is approved, and so I don't think I have been denied, but this time is not on my side as my son has to go through surgery as soon as possible.

Finally, I should mention that I live in Saudi Arabia and have applied for the US Visa from there.
