  • Visitor Visa DS 160 income question

I applied for my in-laws visitor visa last month and it got rejected. They probably weren't convinced by the ties back home. In the DS-160 we had written Rs10K as monthly income, mainly cause my father-in-law is a agriculturist and doesn't have to fill the income tax. In reality the income is several fold's more then what I filled in the DS-160. I am planning to re-apply again in the coming month. Does changing the monthly income have any risk? Will they refer back to the old DS-160 and say that you mis-represented the facts? How should we approach it this time?

    Please help..

When you lie, there is always a problem.

When you apply next time, tell the truth. There is always a risk, though.
