Expired passport with visa. New passport has no visa.

Hi,
My Mom who is living in India is planning to visit me in the US next month (Aug, 2010). She has a Visitors Visa that is valid till 2015, but her passport is expiring in Jan 2011.

She went and renewed her passport in advance and the new passport is valid till 2010.

The problem is that, her visa is stamped in the old passport. The passport office canceled it and returned it to her.
The new passport does not have a visa stamp in it.

Can my Mom travel with the new passport and produce the old one when asked for the visa?
OR
should she go back to the US consulate and get new visa stamped in her new passport?
