If you are a visitor, student or on temp. work permit in UK, you will have to apply for US visitor visa from your home country.

If you are residing in UK itself on long term basis, you can apply from US embassy in UK.

      Hi ,
      Thanks for the reply.

Since I have to travel in a week to UK, is there anything that I can do in India.

Is there any other type of visa/ or any other procedure from which I can get visa to US from UK.

Since I cannot travel back to India during that time please let me know what can be done.

      Regards,
      Smitha

        Need to apply in India.

        Nothing else can be done.

I got a B1/B2 visa not in my origin country

I am an argentinian student in Israel, and got a B1/B2 visa from the US consulate in Israel. Although to my chagrin it is valid only for a year.
I hoped to get it for 10 years.

It was very good that I didn't had to apply in Argentina!

Now I need to renew it. I wasn't asked to be in an interview, only give fingerprints.
Do you think that if I present proofs that my home is really in Israel I would get a 10 year B1/B2? For example that my wife and son are Israeli.

Still this is a bit clumsy because of two reasons:

          a) Since I will not be interviewed I will have to insist somebody to look at my documents.

          b) May be they decided already what will it be and if talk too much it may change it for worse
