Expiration of B-2 status

Hello...I need to know when does B-2 status expire?
The visa expires on July 31th but the I-94 says can stay till September 6th.
Can extension of status be filed after the visa expires but of course before the date on I-94?
Is the date on I-94 the status expiration date?

You can stay in USA till the last date of I 94 expiry date in spite of the expiry of your visitor visa and come back to home country to renew your visitor visa.

Extension of stay application must be filed before I-94 expires. Visa expiry does not matter.

Do remember not to cut it too close, for reasons what-so-ever if you extension is not recieved on/before the I-94 expiration. It will be considered out of status.

Future Enter / Visa / renewal may all potentially have negative impacts.
