  • Visitor Visa Question!!

    Hi,
I am a new member to this forum and would like to say thanks to everyone sharing important information here.

I am planning to get my parents on visitor visa next year.
In my passport, my father's first name is spelled as 'Shivaji' whereas his passport has this as 'Sivaji' (which by the way is correct).

I am concerned that if they look at my passport with the name as 'Shivaji' instead of 'Sivaji', they might reject the visa.

    I have a question here.
Do I need to specify in the DS-156 form of my father, the other first names used as 'Shivaji'? If so, do I need to provide any documentation as to where it is used?

    Thanks for helping,
    Regards,
    Pavan

I believe that this should not cause any problem as consular officers in India know very well about this kind of spelling variations.

You may put Shivaji in other names.

Generally not needed, but it would be safe to just make one affidavit saying both names of are same person.

      Thanks for the prompt reply,
That eased a lot of pressure off my back.

Could you please let me know if there is any format for this affidavit?
Who should be signing this affidavit?
Should it be notarized in India?

      Thanks again,
      Regards,
      Pavan
