My in-laws plan to visit the US and have an interview at the Kolkata Consulate scheduled for late February 2004. Their intent of the duration of stay in the USA is not very rigid but we would like them to stay for 6 months.
Can saying that they wish to stay for 6 months versus saying that they wish to stay for 3 months affect their chances of successfully getting a visitor visa at the interview?
Does the duration of stay in the USA matter and if yes, in what way?
Any advise would be highly appreciated.
