Hello All
My mom's interview was on Aug 9, 10.00 am in Chennai.Her visa was approved and below is her experience. My mother is single and retired pensioner. I am her younger daughter working on H1-B and my husband is on F1. My sister lives with her family in Chennai.
She was at Consulate at 9.00 am. She was asked to enter only at 9.45 am. She entered into the first building after the security where her fingers where printed and they put her passport,interview letter and receipt separately in a folder and gave it to her. Then she had to walk to another building where the interview was conducted. I had scheduled the interview in Tamil.
VO: Vannakam (Good Morning)
Mom : Vanakam
VO: Asked for the folder with passport
Mom: handed over the folder
VO: Who lives in the US?
Mom: My younger daughter and son in law.
VO: What does she do?
Mom: Works as YYYY at YYYY .
VO: Who lives in Chennai or India? (not sure)
Mom: Elder daughter,son inlaw, grand daughter and all other relatives.
VO: what is your annual income?
Mom: Pension,savings , property (I asked her to say some extra things as her annual income (just pension is low)
VO: Do you own any property?
Mom: yes house
VO: Visa granted. Will receive PP in a week
Mom : thank you
She was out side at 10.15 am. She had all documents in her hand but nothing was asked. I checked the status of her passport and says it is ready to be collected at the VFS center or it will be shipped tomorrow. Should receive in a couple of days.
